How much does a mobile app cost in Serbia in 2026?

October 21, 2026 ·

Building a mobile app in Serbia in 2026 costs from €1,000 for a simple app with a few screens to €10,000 and up for an app with payments, several types of user and its own backend. The apps companies most often commission, with user accounts and a database, usually land between €3,000 and €10,000. Below is the breakdown by type of app, what moves the price, and the costs that only start after launch.

The range is this wide because "an app" covers too many different things. A catalogue that only displays content and a delivery app with courier tracking, card payments and three types of user are not the same job, even though both are downloaded from the App Store.

Mobile app prices by type (2026)

These are ranges, not fixed line items. The same type of app can sit at the bottom or the top depending on screen count, design and integrations.

Type of appTypical priceTypical timeline
Simple app€1,000 - €3,0004-8 weeks
App with accounts and a database€3,000 - €10,0002-4 months
Platform with payments and several rolesfrom €10,0004+ months

Simple app: €1,000 - €3,000

An app that displays content and handles simple actions: a product or service catalogue, a menu, a schedule, a contact form and push notifications. There are no user accounts or only basic ones, and the content is edited through a simple admin panel.

It makes sense when the app supports a business that already works: regular customers want you on their phone, and you want a notification channel that does not depend on social media. It is also often a smarter starting point for testing a new idea than a full platform.

App with accounts and a database: €3,000 - €10,000

This is the type companies most often actually commission. Users have accounts, the app remembers their data, and a server with a database runs behind it. Typical examples are bookings and scheduling, loyalty programmes, ordering, tools for field teams, and an app alongside an existing website or store.

Most of the price here is not in the screens but in the backend: business logic, account security, administration and connections to the systems you already use.

Platform with payments and several user types: from €10,000

Apps where different sides meet: buyers and sellers, patients and doctors, couriers and restaurants. Each side has its own screens and rules, and payments, notifications and real-time state have to work reliably for all of them at once.

Projects like these almost always pay off when they start with a first version of the most important flow, then grow based on how people actually use it.

How much does an app with AI cost?

An AI feature, such as recognising what is in a photo or generating text and images, does not have to add much to the build price, because it usually relies on existing models. What people often miss is the running cost: every call to an AI model is billed, so the monthly bill grows with the number of users and belongs in the price of the subscription or service.

We have two apps like this on the App Store. StudioGen turns an ordinary phone photo into studio-grade product photography and ships in 8 languages. CaloGen reads calories and macros from a photo of a meal, including regional dishes other trackers miss, and ships in 11 languages.

Native or cross-platform: which is cheaper?

Native development means two separate apps: one in Swift for iOS and one in Kotlin for Android. Cross-platform means one app that runs on both, usually in React Native with Expo or in Flutter. For most business apps cross-platform is cheaper, because most of the code is written once and maintained once.

Native has the edge when an app leans heavily on the camera, sensors and background work, or when one platform is enough to start with. We build both ways, so the recommendation depends on what the app needs to do.

What affects the cost of building an app

  • The number of screens and flows through the app
  • Whether users have accounts and what the app stores about them
  • Backend: your own server and database, or a ready-made service
  • In-app payments and subscriptions
  • Integrations with systems you already use: store, CRM, accounting
  • Offline use and data sync
  • Maps, location, camera and AI features
  • The number of languages and markets
  • One platform or both

Costs after launch

The build price does not include the costs that start once the app is available to users. Plan for them from day one:

  • Apple Developer Program: 99 USD a year, and without an active account the app does not stay on the App Store
  • Google Play account: a one-time 25 USD
  • Server and database: from a few to a few dozen euros a month, depending on the number of users
  • AI and other paid services: billed per use, growing with the number of users
  • Apple and Google commission on digital purchases and subscriptions inside the app
  • Maintenance: updates for new iOS and Android versions, fixes and new features

What an app quote should contain

A quote with one number and no list of screens is not a quote, it is an estimate. A serious quote lets you compare two companies without guessing, and it should contain the following.

  • The screens and features of the first version
  • Which platforms (iOS, Android or both) and which technology
  • What the backend and admin panel include
  • Who handles publishing to the App Store and Google Play
  • A timeline by phase: design, development, testing, launch
  • Whose accounts and code they are after handover
  • What happens after launch, and at what price

How much does an app cost with Father of Web?

Simpler apps start from €1,000 with us, and apps with a backend and integrations cost more, depending on scope. We build smaller apps in 4 to 8 weeks and more complex ones with integrations in 2 to 4 months. Before quoting we define the scope of the first version together, and the price does not change once it is agreed.

We have built more than 50 apps so far, and two of our own, StudioGen and CaloGen, are live on the App Store under Father of Web LLC. The whole process, from design to launch, is on the mobile app development page.

Frequently asked questions about app cost

How much does the simplest app cost?

From €1,000 for an app with a few screens that displays content and sends notifications, without complex user accounts. Below that it is usually a template from a ready-made builder, which can be enough for a test but is hard to extend once the app starts to grow.

Is it cheaper to build for Android only, or iOS only?

Yes, but not by half. With cross-platform development the second platform costs far less than the first, because most of the code is shared. So one platform only pays off when nearly all of your users are on it.

How much does it cost to publish on the App Store and Google Play?

Apple charges 99 USD a year for a developer account and Google a one-time 25 USD. The accounts should be in the name of your company, so the app stays yours. We handle the publishing process and compliance with the store rules.

How much does app maintenance cost?

It depends on scope, but plan for it up front. Apple and Google release new system versions every year, an app that is not updated gradually starts to misbehave, and Apple can remove apps that have not been updated for a long time. On top of that you pay for the server and the services the app uses.

Can I start with a smaller version?

Yes, and it is usually the best route. A first version with the core features reaches users sooner and shows what they actually use, so the money for the next features is spent on data rather than assumptions.

Do I pay everything up front?

No. Payment comes in instalments tied to phases: a deposit at the start, part after the design is approved, and the remainder before launch. The exact split is agreed before we begin.
