WordPress or a custom website? How to choose

When deciding on a website, one key question is whether to build on WordPress or a custom solution. Both have advantages. The choice depends on your goals, budget and needs.

WordPress: pros and cons

• Pro: faster and cheaper to build
• Pro: easy to edit content yourself
• Pro: huge choice of themes and plugins
• Con: can be slower with many plugins
• Con: needs regular updates and maintenance

Custom website: pros and cons

• Pro: maximum speed and performance
• Pro: unique design and functionality
• Pro: better security and scalability
• Con: higher upfront cost
• Con: longer timeline

Which to choose?

For most small and medium businesses WordPress is a great, affordable solution. If you need maximum speed, unique functionality or plan to scale, a custom website is the better choice. At Father of Web we do both. We advise which is most cost-effective for your case.
